Doug & Judy Tysinger Owners

Douglas D. Tysinger has served as owner and operator of Stamey Funeral Home since 1987, and he is also currently co-owner of Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1968. He is a member of Fallston Baptist Church, where he serves as a Deacon. Douglas serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Fallston Volunteer Fire Department.  He is also a member of Fallston Baptist Church and Fallston Masonic Lodge. 

Judy W. Tysinger serves as co-owner of Stamey Funeral Home and Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. She is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a B.S. in Math Education, and she is also a licensed funeral director and insurance agent. She taught math for Cleveland County Schools, and she is a member of Fallston Baptist Church.

Joey & Jenny Tysinger President

Joseph (Joey) R. Tysinger is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in Finance and Banking. He serves as a licensed funeral director & embalmer. Joey is a member of Fallston Baptist Church, where he is a deacon. He is also a member of Fallston Volunteer Fire Department. Joey also serves on the Board of Directors for Children's Homes of Cleveland County, Hospice Cleveland County and CLECO Primary Care, and the Advisory Board for First National Bank. 

Joey married Jenny Hendrick in November of 2004. Jenny is an BSN for the Levine Children's Hosptial.  Joey and Jenny are the proud parents of Alex & Jacob Tysinger.

J. Pete Craft Manager & Funeral Director/Embalmer

J. Pete Craft is a native of Cherryville, a graduate of Cherryville High School and also a graduate of the Funeral Service Program at Fayetteville Technical Community College and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He is a former long time member of Gospel Way Baptist Church and served the church in many capacities including pianist and deacon. Pete has served the Cherryville area in the funeral business since June of 1995, he joined Doug Tysinger and Stamey Funeral Homes in April of 1998, and he works full-time at the Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home serving as manager since 2004.  Pete is a member and of Cherryville Masonic Lodge # 505 AF&AM serving as Master in 2011 & 2013, Charlotte Scottish Rite Bodies and Oasis Shrine Temple currently serving as District 6 Representative and member and past president of Cherryville Shrine Club currently serving as secretary.  Pete also served Shriners International as an Imperial Potentate Aide in 2015-2016 under Imperial Potentate Jerry Gantt.  He and his wife Haley are members of Cherryville Chapter #156 Order of the Eastern Star, Pete served as Worthy Patron for the 2013/2014 year.  Pete is currently serving his third year as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Cherryville Chamber of Commerce. 


Pete is married to Haley Clark of Cherryville; they were married in April of 2001 and have one son John Weslee Craft.  Pete and Haley reside in Cherryville and are members of First Baptist Church of Cherryville where they serve in various capacities.  Pete is grateful to be associated with the Tysinger family and staff of Stamey Funeral Homes.

Norris Howell Funeral Director

Norris W. Howell is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College and a licensed funeral director. He has served our community since 1999. He is a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the Cedar Lake Community Center.  He also serves on the Board of Director for CLECO Primary Care. Norris married Pam Beam in June of 2001; Pam is employed as a School Social Worker for Cleveland County Schools. 

He is the father of twins, Sam and Abby Howell.

Kelli Beam Funeral Director/Embalmer

Kelli Dellinger joined the staff in January of 2004. She is a graduate of Fayetville Technical Community College. She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. 

Kelli is married to Trey Beam of Cherryville and they have one daughter Darrah.

Cone Carpenter Funeral Director/Embalmer

W. Cone Carpenter, Jr. is a native of Cherryville, North Carolina. He is a graduate of Cherryville High School, and he attended Appalachian State University and graduated from Cincinnati College of Embalming in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been a full funeral service licensee for 44 years, and he was associated with Carpenter's Funeral Home for 40 years, serving as president from 1977 until the business was sold in 1990. 


He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cherryville and he has served on numerous boards and committees. He is a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505; a member and past Worthy Patron of Cherryville Chapter #156 Order of the Eastern Star; past District Deputy, OES; a member and past president of the Cherryville Shrine Club; ambassador to Oasis Temple, Charlotte; ambassador to the Scottish Rite, Charlotte; and past president of the Cherryville Lions Club. 


W. Cone has three children and five grandchildren. He joined Doug Tysinger and Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home in October of 2001; says Cone, "It is with pride that I have become a part of this fine group."
